Ministry of Industries (MOI) of Bangladesh appointed MITI ENTERPRISE and HR Ship Management Pvt. Ltd., as SAFETY AGENCY for Ship Breaking and Recycling Industry. At initial stage an Expression of Interest (EOI) was invited from experienced interested parties by the Ministry of Industry. Selection was made from numerous interested parties by a special technical committee through a stringent process of evaluation.
SCOPE OF WORK of the Safety Agency’s are:-
a) Establishing of Hazardous Materials Management System.
b) Arrangement of Ship Recycling Facility Plan (SRFP).
c) Development of Ship Recycling Plan (SRP).
d) Providing a Ship Breaking Schedule.
e) Establishing of Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) Management System.
f) The overall Supervision of recycling facilities, in accordance with the requirements of SBSRB 2011 (as Contract Agreement).
g) Upon completion of Recycling of a Vessel a consolidated report to be submitted to MOI.
